Our story began long before ChickInn officially opened its doors. In the 1970s and 1980s, Eric's grandfather owned and operated a hatchery that produced a wide variety of common and exotic poultry species. Although the hatchery eventually closed, the family's knowledge and passion for poultry never disappeared. Growing up, Eric spent every summer hatching eggs collected from the family's laying flock and from friends who shared his enthusiasm for chickens. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong passion for poultry and laid the foundation for ChickInn.

In 2023, what started as a small side project quickly grew into something much bigger. Eric began hatching chicks on a regular basis and selling them to friends and neighbors. As word spread, so did the demand. ChickInn has continued to grow through satisfied customers and referrals, always guided by one simple philosophy: provide the breeds and quality that backyard chicken keepers are looking for. We listen to our customers, continually expand our offerings, and focus on raising birds that fit the needs of today's backyard flocks.

Unlike large commercial hatcheries, many of our breeding flocks live right here at ChickInn. We know our birds, carefully select our breeding stock, and work year-round to produce strong, vigorous chicks with excellent genetics. To offer an even wider variety of breeds, we also partner with a handful of trusted local families who share our commitment to responsible breeding and exceptional animal care. These small specialty breeders help us provide unique and sought-after breeds while maintaining the personal relationships and quality standards that define ChickInn.
